THE PETWORTH BUSINESS ASSOCIATION ... Promoting Petworth
The PBA has been active since early 2008 promoting the businesses and services of Petworth. With a thriving and growing membership, it offers a range of activities and events for its members.
Anthony Short first opened an antiques gallery 10 years ago in Antwerp, following in his father's footsteps, who has been in the antiques trade for more than 40 years.
In 2008 Anthony felt it was time to start a new challenge so he left his successful shop in Antwerp to start up a whole new adventure in Petworth "Voted best antiques town in the UK".
In June 2008 Anthony started dealing in antiques from his small premises in East Street, Petworth. Having looked for some time, he found a large showroom near the Market Square in Petworth, ideally suited to display his large stock of antique furniture, silver and works of art. The new shop has its own private parking which makes it handy for visitors and loading.
Anthony holds a large and varied collection of 18th and 19th century quality antique furniture, featuring fine mahogany furniture of the Georgian, Regency and Victorian Period, featuring fine walnut of the Queen Anne period, English and Continental oak and country furniture, decorative antique objects, prints and silver.
Anthony continues to attend his usual antique fairs on the Continent to keep in contact with his loyal clientele. "It is thanks to them that I am where I am today, in Petworth!"
