The PBA has been active since early 2008 promoting the businesses and services of Petworth. With a thriving and growing membership, it offers a range of activities and events for its members.
Part of a handsome 17th century house on the main route through Petworth, Stringers Gallery supplies artwork and artists' materials.
Owner Leslie Martin, who took over and expanded what was primarily a picture framing business, stocks a wide range of fine art supplies, from paints, oils and brushes to sketch pads and cartridges, tapes and adhesives, greetings cards, reference art books, picture and photo frames, and canvases made in the workshop on the premises. The Gallery also sells rare and antique prints as well as paintings by contemporary artists in oils, acrylic and watercolours. Featured artists include Louise Mizen, Toby Meader, Peter Ward, Andrew Dandridge and Doro Huelin.
Services offered by the Gallery include creating portraits of pets and people from photos, photocopying and web searches. Art courses on various topics can be arranged.
